the DAF 33

not sure how far i will with this but here the start .

sat in a hedge for years with the window open but not looking to bad , turning over really well but not starting





me and dickie towed it away last night in the rain and the wipers packed up , seems to roll ok and the brakes sort of work , also found new brake pads in the back


checked the fuel again to find this , its green dayglow



so i guess that aint helping so binned half a tank of what ever it was and stuck some new in , stuck a new condensore on and just about got it the try .

still got a week spark so realy want to try a coil asap

gave a few bits a quick polish to

clunks in to drive and reverse to start with but seems to be getting smother , all seems to work but the wipers so will drive it up to mot soon

iv just found out iv been useing the wrong switch for the wipers so fingers crossed they mite work

What was stoping it running in the end. did it turn out to be the coil ?.

thanks chaps , points added rich , yea baz the coil wernt helping , the fuel would never had worked and a few other bits but the spark was still week so the coil did the biz baz , i think robs got one i can have so if i can use your till then that would be good ? , im going to try and drive it for a pre mot Friday if all goes well

I wouldn't be surprised. They were never exactly common. Tidy that one up, bit of a service, give it a clean and polish, tax and MOT it and I reckon that it would be worth a substantial amount.

I drove it yesterday up to the mot station. Will go on the raMps soon , the brake are not great and there my be a problem with the gears but there's a pipe missing and iv got some good advice so hopefully can sort it
