a mate of mine has had his car hit and rote off . Cat -C . the insurance bloke said it shouldn't be Cat C but they wont rite out a D or E cuz the company tell them not to ?? bit odd

any way . only damage was a wing mirror and a rear light cluster and a scrape
he's done the work and now the insurance want a new mot , a vic check (no prob) and an independent engineers report . now whats that ? they have said to him to get the people that repear it to do one but hes done it him self .

will a note or maybe a bill from any garege do ?

I reckon chickie too !

Basically they want some proof that the repair has been done and the vehicle is roadworthy before they agree to re-insure it.
A new MOT goes half way there , but a letter from a suitably authorised person - ie an MOT tester - to confirm that the repairs have been completed, the vehicle is back to its pre accident condition - and if possible an idea of the value - should do the trick - I would imagine that Chicky would be the man to sort if he is willing.
the report is quite important, cos if it gets nicked and your mate has to claim for it, he will have a dated report/valuation on paper that proves it was repaired post accident.
