I dont think theres any right or wrong way of saying it,its just how you've been bought upto to say it.
I go with the theory that if cone is said how it is,putting an 's' in front of it should be scone..

I've checked with the Official Scone Registry (OSR). They are the scone regulatory body, sanctioned by the Bakery Sector Skills Council (BSSC). They say that you can say it how you like and most people will accept it, but the proper way to say it is as in "gone". Or "con".

it's scone as in gone. check the OED, it clearly shows the preferred pronunciation as skon not skohn
