iPod touch 4th gen

Anybody broke 1 before and got repaired in chelt.
I have dropped my stepdaughters and it has opened it self up a little (came away in corner) so screen doesn't work or light up!
When I plug into docking station you can hear it playing so does work?
Sent it to apple they say Looks like somebody tried to open it so won't repair it.
Help cheers

There is an apple repair specialist in Market street just down from the hop pole inn, they are very good but not cheap, you'll be more likely told its cheaper to replace than repair, this has always been my experience when I break mine

wont repair it under warranty ?
or at all ?
surely its just a case of replaceing screen mate

they refused altogether to touch it as looked tampered with? Think they were suggesting it would be cheaper to replace after sent them a shitty feedback email after they refused under warranty.
I have so many apple gadgets in house thought I would let them now how I feel wasting my money and there bad back up service. Oops
