taking the head off a 1999 passat (96-00) 1.8 ?

hello . me and a mate need to do the head gasket on this but its got a chain that we're not sure about .

this is the info . what i want to know is does the chane go down and round stuff that will stop me taking the belt of and pulling the head off or will it all come of with the head ? cheers for any input D

prob best to ziptie the chain etc, we have locking tools, it aint a nice job.

how do you mean mate ? jip the chain so it dont move ? .. that should be no prob but will it come off with the head or does it go down past the head gasket ? cheers d

it goes down past the front gulley, so be carefull
i think the chain on the back comes off with the head as i think it just drives the 2 cams, 99% sure! lol
