dont no if this should go in tech ?
however what would be a good price for a new/used carb
do i buy new /recon /used ?
what do i go for ?
or should i/can iget my oval one reconned it is a mexican make cant remember what it is but geussing its a cheapy any suggestions welcome

Its a copy of the solex carb and they have'nt got a good rep. wots the problem with it?.

what engine is it ? dicky mint lent me a carb , iv never tryed it in the end , mite be worth striping it , cleaning it then trying it on yours , i have no idea what it is though

so ive just read apparently the spindle gets worn i think i look for another instead of repairing this one

its a 1600 mate do you thimk he would sell it got my running but its running on half choke so will make weston but dont if ill get home cant afford the fuel

it wouldnt tick over properly had someone look at it and give it a bit of a clean and stuff and the auto choke keeps closing or something and the adjusting screws no matter what you do to them it makes no differance

You can get spindle repair bushes the guy that does them is from glouster. there was someone selling them on vzi the other day maybe the same guy?

Warn spindle will draw air in an fuck your mixture up.

im sure your welcome to borrow it and see how it goes , my plan was to put it up for sale next time we have a stall and give dicky the cash , it aint worth alot and i dont know what its jeted for so mite be more troble than its worth but its here if you want to try , mite be worth ba haveing a look at the pair of um and see what he can do , if you use this one you can stict the shaged one on the stall instead

Yep will swap over. be carfull withe the base gausket gsf dont do them on their own.

iam as we speak trawling the net trying to decide what to buy IF it works will return ASAP

iv dug it out , its a standard bug carb so maybe a clean out and see if it does the job , have you stripped one before al ?

i honestly think i might have one oily
but the chances of finding it are very slim
still toying if robbing bits of the red one and selling it as i never have bloody time to get there and doing any work on it!!!

only ever stripped a honda c90 carb does that help ?

duno , its not to hard but mite help if you knew what you were doing
