1500 sp beetle engine

For sale is my 1500 s/p engine needs new oil pressure sensor and fan nut as been welded at some point.
Has new coil,dizzy cap, points , rotar arm, plugs, leads, condenser.
Offers welcome.

To be honest with ya I'm not sure I know it runs fine but could do with overhaul an other bits I mentioned.
So I guess I would like 120.

Righto. Does it have a 12v 200mm flywheel? And is there much end float ?

No end float. 12v dynamo, 200 mm flywheel and clutch still attached. Dropped it out in 1 today and selling as is,need space. No exhaust inc and j- tubes are pretty rusted would need new.

If paddy dont want it il have a look

No end float makes me smile. I'm dead interested, depending on the flywheel. Can you count the teeth on it please ? 6v flywheel will have 109 teeth and 12v will have 130 teeth iirc. Either will run fine with a 12v or 6v starter. But - you need to do some daft stuff to fit a 12v (130) flywheel into a 6v gearbox. I'd rather not grind out magnesium bellhousings tbh. Slight fire/explosion risk Been there

I have a couple of 6v 1500 bottom ends mate. Both need splitting and bearings etc. I need a 12v one to get a basic motor for my fastback sorted tbh. At 120 quid, mister bugjammins engine is a possible - as long as it was originally a 12v block

Cheers dude. Just had another thought though - does it have a blanking plate thingy on it so it could have a typ3 dipstick tube / oil filler tube fited ? I will try and find a pic if you don't know what I'm on about.

The bit with the shiny block off cover on it. Normal type1/2 cases don't have it, and don't have the two studs either. Its just a solid bit of the case. Type3 cases do have it. So called 'universal' cases have it with that block off plate on it so the case can be used for type1/2/3.

Will have look later mate unsure.

Is it really a proper decent engine ? I might have it anyway. Is it leaky ?

I wouldnt know if it has air leak but did drive fine.no real oil leaks surprisingly slight weep from under fuel pump on blanking plate
