Camping in Ireland

I was thinking about taking a trip to Ireland on the ferry this year, has anyone been on a similar trip? Any recommendations on sites / locations? Would be nice to take in some history and culture as well as some alcohol

years ago i did a trip round in a car and b&b's , it was lush ,i intended to go back and travel it in me van but life went another dirition , i will do it one day , got no info but i would say go for it , it will be ace
