duno but when i lived in my van it cold so cold i had to de-ice my specs in the mornings , had about a mm of ice a few days

So why is it? When I applied it was fine to wear spec's.

Maybe I should have clarified this with when the station was first set up..

And its not because you couldn't do sports, so a note from your mum would be pointless !

No idea - these days they just ask you if you'd like them to make you prescription glacier glasses for your trip

Well... in the olden days (pre glacier prescription glasses days), they wouldn't let you work there if you wore specs cuz the specs would keep misting up or freezing, and you would be constantly clearing them off, and that would send you a bit loopy, and they didn't like loopy people being out there

Loopy in the antarctic is not good.

It's a hardcore job though, you sign up for a 3 year tour and don't leave the place at all in that time.
