Laws dvla

Can anybody explain the law i have seen an read a lot about a mk1 golf on beetle chassis running a rotary engine.
Anyway I'm confused could I put a golf on a classic beetle? what would be the tax and dvla point.
Surely if it's the body of a modern golf insurance an tax would be complicated?

Where did you hear that mate. I can see how the drivers and vehicles license agency can I force that
