Running problems

Fastys a bit broken

Running really badly like its missing and I can't seem to sort it out. I've changed the points, condenser, dizzy cap, plugs, rotor arm. I've adjusted the timing, cleaned out the carbs and jets, checked for air leaks, checked the tappets, remade electrical connections. I've tried pulling off plug leads whilst it's running and can't seem to isolate it to one cylinder??? I've run out of ideas and it's driving me nuts!! Sometimes it'll run lovely on the drive and then run shit on the road. Aaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Any ideas??

Beemers broken too. Suspension collapsed. I've only got the camper left!

Just had the same problem on a customer of mine 1600 bay, 3 and 4 pistons had broken compression rings........do a compression check.

ht leads breaking down ? are the tied together ? sometimes make um sort under load . thats the end of what i know about them .

it will fix it long as you fit um correctly oveusly  

are expensive plug leads worth the money?
I can get a set from GSF for under £15 or some from CoolAir for £65!!!  

duno but fuck that and get the 15 quid one

 

£15 ones to eliminate a problem. is this a sudden problem or a slowly getting worse one? also what are the plugs like?

 Should be 120/130 psi ish . did you do them from cold or warm?

sounds like its fucked mate , best scrap it , il pop over and take it to bucklands for you , no prob , no charge , i will need you to sign the log book please

cold. is it dead?

It was intermittent. I fixed it several times (air leaks, timing, new plugs points condensor dizzy cap). Ticks over ok ish, but it just misses badly when driven...

Sometimes it'll be a bit lumpy if I havent driven it for a while but thinking back , this problem started whilst doing 70 up the golden valley. I struggled to get to the station to pick up Becki and limped home. But as I say, It'll run fine sometimes and other times it misses like fuck!
