What reg year is it? The roofs are slightly different across the years.

What do you want to know?

Is it definitely a GTI for starters?

Mine was a Clipper - 1.8 carb

Under the carpet wink The roof design is not too bad on them, but they ALL leak a bit - the later cars have a little deflector to protect the join where the roof folds from wind blown rain but an "A" most likely won't have it.

Also with an early car I believe you should be looking at small bumpers and no body kit (i.e. not like mine ^^^ ) if it's got a body kit on now it may be concealing shagged arches and sills, a common trick.

It has to have the tonneau cover for the folded roof, you can tell if it hasn't been used as the headliner will be stripy inside wink

I'm sure it'll be a manual roof at that age so make sure the latches that hold the folded roof down work properly too.

Other stuff later if you need it, bit busy now.

I reckon it's too much money myself, if they'd climb down a long way I'd say OK though - it looks clean enough, not that you can really tell from one picture.

Never been a fan of the triple-white cocktail myself though...
