for washing bottles for my beer

as the home brew is about saving money i can bring my self to spend a lot on bits so am looking for bits out the skip so if any of you useful type see any bits please grab um ta

Like i said yesterday toast,i doubt very much you will ever find any copper pipe left in skips these days,plumbers will save every bit for scrap.
What about plastic water pipe??

4 90 degree bends and a length of pipe an your sorted..
Not free but at least you wont have to braize any copper

im pondering it rich , i wonder if plastic will hold ridged . i know they will make a good seal but if you think of the bottle sticking up like a leaver would it hold it with water banging through it as well ? i don't know , not had a go with them , how much would a new length of copper pipe be do you think ?

im guna have a look round wicks tomorrow , got waylaid today

also the uprights have to be quite thin , i did and experiment with a sort of stranded copper pips size pipe (if you know what i mean) and the water couldn't get out quick anuff .

Water pipe is pretty rigid mate be fine for holding bottles up no probs.
copper pipe aint cheap and then you will need 6 T pieces and 4 90 degrees,that wont be cheap...id go plastic

Actually toast the bends are quite cheap really..

and about the same each for the 90 degrees corners..

what i mean about the ridegety is if you pulled on the bit sticking up like you were using it as a spanner , would the joint move round the pipes ?

also with copper i dont think i would used joints , i would hopfuly bend it to shape , drill holes and weld / brase the uprights on if pos

I've got a couple of ts amdpos a couple of 90s knocking around if you wanna buy a length of pipe mate I'll knock ya one up Really can't see it bring that expensive !!

I might not have everything but can't see it being more than 15£ If that and that's a big if !????

thanks al , iv text a mate thats ripping his house out at the mo to see if he has some pipe , i will do some measuring and make a more defo plan and have a look round wicks tomorrow if i get chance ,

would bending it be easier than messing round with joins ?

You could bend the corners ( I've got a set of benders ) (insert joke ) But by the time you've messed about with the bending of corners you could of soldered the joints
I'm guessing you won't need more than 2m of pipe !! You will still need to solder the ts tho
That shouldn't take more than 5 mins to knock up !

the up rights need to be no wider the 10mm , maybe more like 7 as the water need to be aball to get back out quick .

the base could be any size pipe really as long as it can be joined to the upright bits .

the need to sit in the bath so not to wide but wide anuff to be stable

the inlet pipe can be any size to as long as i can attach a bit of hose to it ,.

does that all make sense ?

What you need for the uprights is called micro bore ( I believe. ) which I'm sure is bout 5/6 mil
I bet if you ask weardy he would have some off cuts
If not I'll ring the plumber we use and ask him Tom for you ?

cool . il look in to it , im sure Neal will read this so i wont bother him on the scrounge

funny thing is i binned loads of bits and bob like this out of my van when i had it from his firm , there was all sorts in there

that one in the pic is for a steam mate so the water dont need to rush out so quick , iv tried it with 15mm ish tube and and its just gets stuck then rockets off

ye 8 would be better . but 6 would be fine

I've got an old wall paper stripper couldn't we connect that up to the 15mil pipe surely that would work ???
